We Chat With SCREAM FACTORY’s Jeff Nelson About Their Recently Announced Comic-Con Slate!

poltergeist-3-Featured
Like a lot of you out there, we here at Blumhouse.com are huge fans of what the fine folks at Scream Factory do. And one of the best things about the annual San Diego Comic-Con is that we can expect them to announce a huge batch of titles to get us through the remainder of the year. And this past weekend, they did not disappoint!
The announcement hailed new Blu-Ray editions of titles from David Cronenberg, Don Coscarelli, the POLTERGEIST sequels, the horror classic BLACK CHRISTMAS and much, much more! We caught up with Jeff Nelson, the head of marketing for Scream Factory, to get the inside scoop on the 13 recently announced titles and upcoming slate!

Blumhouse.com: So, how did Comic Con 2016 go for the Shout Factory/Scream Factory crew?

Jeff Nelson: We thought that Comic-Con went really smoothly for us this year. It went perfectly, actually. I was responsible for bringing down the talent from RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD; Thom Matthews, John Philbin and Sean Clark from Horror’s Hallowed Grounds for a signing before our panel. And that went great. A really good turnout.
Return_Panel
BH.com: The disc is great! The final product is really fantastic.
JN: We were just so pleased with everything we’ve been able to do with RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, and that was actually a title we announced last Comic-Con! So it was a year in the making and an interesting way to come full circle this year. The panel was well attended and the people there were truly engaged. Brian Ward, who also works here at the company and is a DVD producer, kept things very casual, conversational and let people know what we were doing.
Scream-Factory-logo
BH.com: This has now become an annual tradition for you guys to announce a handful of titles at the convention. How do you go about deciding what’s going to be part of the Comic-Con announcement slate?
JN: While Cliff MacMillan continues to make deals, we look at titles we have on the horizon – we work so far in advance, so I kind of know what November, December, possibly January and Quarter 1 and 2 for the next year will look like. And that’s where I’m able to take a look at those titles and say, hey, do we have strong ones that we’re able to announce in advance, and where the deals have been signed? I can’t announce anything unless the deals are signed and done. There are other titles that we currently have cooking that would’ve been just as splashy that we couldn’t announce for Comic-Con, but we tried. It’s always about insuring the deals are done, and if the titles are compelling enough to announce. This year we had 13, last year we had 10.
dead-ringers
BH.com: Well, let’s start with the Cronenberg stuff! In the same way that Criterion has their “filmmakers” that they showcase, you guys have built an interesting library that celebrates directors such as John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, Stuart Gordon. Criterion is usually the one that does Cronenberg titles, but this is exciting that you’ve got RABID and DEAD RINGERS!
JN: What’s really interesting was when Cliff and I were on the Shock Waves podcast earlier this year, I mentioned something like, “I’d love to work on Croneberg titles,” we knew we had these titles coming. We just couldn’t say anything on that podcast! I did the same thing with CARRIE. I have to throw off the scent sometimes! But our deals with DEAD RINGERS and RABID came from two separate partners, and we’re totally excited. This is David Cronenberg! Good Cronenberg! I personally love RABID. I think it’s one of those early movies that came out before DAWN OF THE DEAD but after NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD that has the same themes of contagion and virus outbreak. It’s very bleak and cold, and you sympathize with the heroine. It’s just a great movie. With DEAD RINGERS, so many people here in our offices are super excited about that title. I’ll tell you, I can’t wait to announce the artwork on those, because they look great. And they’re done in a very different fashion than we normally do. At this point right now these are scheduled for November. I’ll just leave it at that!
slumber-party-massacre-2
BH.com: Since you brought up the Shock Waves podcast earlier, can we give full credit to my co-host Elric Kane for SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE 2 and 3?
JN: You know what? Here’s the deal. I would say that that podcast definitely helped. What happened after that podcast, I went back to the office, looked up our numbers for SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE 1 on Blu-Ray. I talked about it with Cliff and our president. We did what we call a “profit and loss statement,” and we looked at the numbers, and thought releasing the sequels as a double bill, we should be fine. But that said… this means that everybody that wanted SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE 2 and 3 on Blu-Ray, you have to buy it please! (Laughs) The numbers are tight, and SLUMBER PARTY MASSACRE 1 didn’t do as well as we had hoped, but it still did OK. Usually with sequels – and we’ve seen this with SLEEPAWAY CAMP 2 & 3, HOWLING 2 – there’s a decay, so we don’t want there to be a decay. We want people that bought the first Blu-Ray to buy these. And I know there’s a lot of SLUMBER PARTY 2 fans. They might be just as big if not bigger than the fans of the first one. Yes, Elric and the onslaught of social media people after that podcast certainly helped!
poltergeist-iii
BH.com: You guys have tackled franchises before, but how do you feel about getting the POLTERGEIST sequels now? Because for me, growing up, POLTERGEIST 2 and 3 were the ones that were on heavy rotation on cable, so I saw those a lot! And I’m looking forward to these! Even though I already have the bare bones Blu-Rays!
JN: As people know, we have a relationship with MGM, for certain titles. We obviously don’t have access to the first POLTERGEIST, because Warners Brothers in involved and we just don’t have an in with them. But for POLTERGEIST 2 and 3, this was one of those things that Cliff suggested and we put it on the schedule. Although we don’t have details yet, I have said to Cliff that there are a few things we’re going to need to do in order for people to be willing to double dip, because they have been on Blu-Ray before as you mentioned. It’s still too early, but we can say we’re making them both collector’s editions. I have to tell you, out of all of the announcements, in person at the panel, POLTERGEIST 2 and 3 was met with some excitement, but not nearly as big as BLACK CHRISTMAS or BUBBA HO-TEP or the Cronenberg titles. But online, afterwards, totally different story. We’ve been seeing a lot of excitement online for those 2 films. We’ve had a lot of people come up and ask if we can get certain things, like deleted scenes. Know that we’re going to do our best. But also, remember we have parameters and limitations. We don’t own the films. We don’t know what materials MGM has yet. We don’t know what legal things we might come across. There’s always that to keep in mind, but we have a lot of fans that know those properties well and we’re going to do our best. I’m excited for them. The artwork is being worked on and I can tell people those will come out in 2017, probably early in the year.
BlackChristmas
BH.com: I have been one of those people that has been on the fence about getting that recent Canadian Blu of BLACK CHRISTMAS, so I’m glad I didn’t yet, because you just announced that one at Comic-Con too! What can you tell me about what to expect for your version? I mean, this is a classic horror movie to add to your library of titles.
JN: I am a huge fan of the original BLACK CHRISTMAS. I watch it every year, just like probably every one else does. There’s a humor to it, a coldness and a really scary feeling to it. If you turn off all the lights and pop that movie in around Christmas time, it’s creepy. The guy that ended up doing CHRISTMAS STORY, Bob Clark, did this movie! It’s an interesting book end to CHRISTMAS STORY that he would do these two quintessential Christmas movies. We were really fortunate to get this. We don’t have any details yet, but you can guess that we are probably going to try to get this out by Christmas. That is our goal. We are definitely going to try to do a new transfer. We’re still working on that. There were a lot of extras included in the previous editions and we’re in the process of trying to get those altogether. We will have new art work, along with the original theatrical artwork. We know that there’s pressure on us regarding this title. And I’ve got to be honest, every DVD or Blu-Ray release thus far has had some issue, whether it be the audio quality is a little out of sync. Or some other technical issue. We’ve taken a scope of what’s been done, and we’re aiming to make ours the last one, the definitive edition.

BH.com: You’ve done that already with titles such as TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2, ARMY OF DARKNESS and now RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD, so I have complete confidence that you guys will deliver! I have to say, I watched HELLHOLE last night, and the fact that you guys put the love and care to restore that movie shows a lot of devotion and dedication! (Laughs)
JN: (Laughs) Someone asked us about titles at Comic-Con and I brought up HELLHOLE. We announced it, had to cancel it, then we got it again. It’s just had such a troubled release. And I looked at the pre-order numbers and they’re not all that. We went through all this effort for HELLHOLE! But here’s the thing, if we set out to do something, we want to do it and we want to do it right. With BLACK CHRISTMAS, the question has always been on the PQ of previous releases – people complaining about it being too grainy, etc. We just have to evaluate all the assets and see what we have to play with so we can do it. I’ll tell you – we’ll be able to look at it all, and whatever we come up with, we’ll be able to explain fully what we have to work with. You know how we do this! We try to explain as best as we can and do our homework.
bubba5
BH.com: I’ve done several lists over the years of movies I’d love to see on Blu-Ray, and pretty much always at the top is BUBBA HO-TEP. It’s one of my favorite of Don Coscarelli’s films and I’m so excited that it’s finally getting a proper Blu-Ray release. What can you tell us about that one? Is Don involved the way he was for PHANTASM 2?
JN: I know that Cliff, a lot of people here at the office and fans out there are huge fans of this title. And it’s definitely a really interesting one. I mean, it’s Bruce Campbell as Elvis! It doesn’t get any wackier than that. Because of Coscarelli’s base, and the fact that we are working directly with him on this title, I think it’s going to come out great. There was a lot of enthusiasm for it. And if ever a movie was deserving of its cult following, it’s this one.
house_that_screamed_poster_
BH.com: The other thing that always excites me as a fan every time you make these Comic-Con announcements is that there are always a few titles that I’m not familiar with at all. I’d never heard of THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMED or DEAD OF WINTER. What’s the story with these? And do you guys consciously try to incorporate obscure titles with these big announcements too?
the-house-that-screamed
JN: Well, sometimes it’s just a matter of the titles that we know are coming out from November and onward. And we realize that some of them are obscure. I could have made this list 10 titles, but we know there are fans of those movies out there as well, the obscure ones. When you roll them into one big announcement like this, they all get attention that they normally wouldn’t get, and you’re also able to say, there is something here for everyone. As far as those 2 films, we’re getting them from MGM. Not too many details yet, but THE HOUSE THAT SCREAMS has been requested quite a bit, kind of in the same way that BLOOD AND LACE had been previously. It’s a Spanish film and has lots of “slasher” tropes. We’ve heard through the grapevine that it’s one of Guillermo del Toro’s favorite movies. I’ve never seen it myself, but I’m totally looking forward to it! I looked at the trailer and thought, “yep. I’m down.” (Laughs)
KL_DeadWinterCov
JN: DEAD OF WINTER I saw as a kid in the 80’s, and I remember it being a thriller. I would probably pair it up with CURTAINS or THE THING, or YOU’LL LIKE MY MOTHER. I’m looking forward to that one too!
willard
BH.com: What about WILLARD and BEN?
JN: Yes! Two obscure movies, for the first time ever, coming to Blu-Ray. We’ve had a lot of requests over the years for that, and a lot of people that tried gave up on those titles because there was a lot of legal wrangling’s surrounding them. For us to be able to clear that and get them, credit goes to Cliff MacMillan, because he’s been going after those titles for years, even before Scream Factory for Shout Factory. That’s a good win for us. I’m really pleased with our announcements this year. This year’s batch got generally met with our most positive comments yet. I don’t know what the hell we’re going to do for 2017 as an encore! But we’ll keep trying our best.

The Re-Shot Ending

Below are most of the script pages for the re-shot ending, which was filmed during the week of March 14, 1988, over a month after Heather passed away. I transcribed the segment directly from Gary Sherman's shooting script, which is on file at the Margaret Herrick Library in Beverly Hills. I didn't have time to get all the pages, so the first portion is actually a basic transcript I made from the movie (it's very similar to the actual pages).
Transcript from the movie (similar to the actual script pages)
Int. Carol Anne's Room-Night
Pat has fallen face down onto the snow- covered floor of the bedroom. As she stands up, she notices the whole room is covered with ice. Electrical discharges and blue laser-like beams of light flash out of the ceiling. Pat sees herself reflected in the wall length mirror across the room. She turns back to the window, feels it. The window is now solid.
Pat moves slowly across the room.
PAT
Bruce? Bruce? Bruce....Bruce!! Donna? Carol Anne? Tangina?!
She reaches the mirror. Pleading with her own reflection, she screams:
PAT
Bruce!
She reaches for the doorknob, trying to open the door. It won't budge.
PAT
Oh, God!
Suddenly, Kane's evil laughter is heard from behind Pat. She spins around and looks toward the widows. Mist begins to rise all around the room, Kane and the other spirits hidden within it. The laughter gets louder.
PAT
Where are you, Kane?! Where have you taken my family? I want them back! Tangina said you can't take them, as long as someone here loves them. Well, I love them, and I have this...
(she raises the necklace)
PAT(con't)
...to protect me!
Kane's laughter continues for a few seconds more, then dies out. Pat slides along the mirror. We notice her reflection moves too, but a bit out of step with Pat. Suddenly, it spins around, its face a death mask. It grabs Pat. Pat screams, spins around, and raises the necklace toward her evil double.
Pat sees her reflection is back to normal. From behind her:
KANE:
The necklace!
Pat spins around, as Kane moves up behind her and slaps her hard across the face. She falls down and hits something on the floor. There is the sound of dried leaves. It is the rotting body of DONNA. Pat screams and backs away, now falling on top of BRUCE's withered corpse. The spade he used earlier to break the window is still clutched in his hands.
KANE
Give me the necklace!
PAT (slowly standing up, taking the shovel from Bruce)
No.
KANE
The necklace!
PAT
NO!
She swings the shovel, neatly slicing off Kane's head. His body falls back to the floor. Pat looks down at the severed head, lying on the ice covered floor. Its mouth begins to twist in pain, low gutteral sounds emanating from within. Suddenly the face begins to decompose and peel away from the bone underneath.
Now here's the actual script pages (dated "REVISED 3/14/88")
Her POV-The flesh continues to peel away revealing the mummified face beneath. Kane's mouth opens letting out a blood-curdling SCREAM. But, from somewhere in the distance comes Kane's unmistakable laugh. The storm grows more violent than ever.
Close on PAT-Her eyes fly toward the mirror.
Over PAT-Kane steps out of the fog.
Her POV-She looks toward where the head was.
Her POV-There is nothing on the floor but snow.
Back to PAT-She looks up at Kane.
Her POV-Kane laughs at her, but...
Tangina (O.S.)
Kane!
Angle: Pat turns toward the mirror. Pat has to guide her face to look into the storm.
Over Pat and Kane: Tangina steps toward them, but only in the mirror.
Pat looks from mirror to Kane back to mirror.
Pat's POV of Tangina in mirror.
Kane looks at Tangina.
Tangina
Give her back her family, Kane. You don't need them. You don't need Carol Anne. I can lead you into the Light. I have the knowledge...and the power.
Close on PAT.
Pat
No! Tangina don't. Tell me how to use the necklace, so I can save all of you.
Tangina
Thank you, Pat. But this is the way it has to be. Say goodbye to Carol Anne for me. Tell her I'll always love her, and that her nightmare is over.
Angle-Pat looks at Kane. Kane walks toward the mirror and touches it. Lightning. He joins Tangina and they walk into the fog.
Close on PAT-Fear wipes across her face.
Pat (shouts)
Tangina!
Angle-Pat runs toward the mirror as Tangina and Kane begin to disappear in the ever increasing glow behind the fog and growing storm. THUD! Pat hits the mirror.
Pat (screams)
Tangina! Where are they?
The glow behind the fog grows into a blinding light. The sound of the storm builds to an ear-splitting level, drowning out Pat's scream.
6 Close on PAT-Tears run down her face, as she claws at the mirror. Then distant voices come wafting through the violent storm. Pat pries her eyes open.

22 Angle-in the mirror, far away, a tiny red clad figure proceeds two other figures as they emerge from where Tangina and Kane dissapeared. Bruce's, Donna's, and Carol Anne's cries of "Pat" cut through the storm, momentarily before the storm's lightning and thunder obliterate everything into a white explosion.

20 As the explosion clears, the Gardner family and Carol Anne are huddled together in Carol Anne's bedroom. Pat holds Carol Anne tightly against her. Bruce has his arms around them and Donna.

Now back to my transcript, since the actual script pages ended above. Perhaps they simply improvised the following portion on the set during filming:
Pat looks down at the necklace, then at her family.
PAT
She did it...she saved us!
The family embraces, smiling.
Dissolve to:
Ext. John Hancock Center-Day
Lake Michigan can be seen in the foreground. The morning is bright and sunny.
Apparently, Gary Sherman wanted the film to end right here. However, MGM was still not satisfied (likely after poor test screenings). So, in an effort to "punch up" an ending that "everyone hated," as well as ensure a more standard "horror movie" style open door for yet another sequel (even though it directly contradicted what had been seen just moments before), the following optical special effect (about the only true optical FX shot in the whole movie)was tacked on:
Two BOLTS OF LIGHTNING quickly shoot down from the sky, making contact with the building and arching across it. Kane's evil laughter is heard coming from everywhere, but slowly dies out as the end credits begin to roll.
FADE OUT.
THE END

Finally, here's some more info regarding the shooting script, from the notes I made during my original visit in October, 2005 (I went back again in May of 2008 and made some additional notes)
Today I visited the Margaret Herrick Library off La Cienega Blvd. They have many scripts, manucripts, and books related to the film industry. I had to sign in, present proper ID, and fill out a form explaining why I wanted to research there. Gary Sherman's personal copy of the "Poltergeist III" script was on file in their special collections department. I got to read it (along with early drafts of P2) for a 3 and a half hour period. The P3 Script was really cool-it was color coded, and had lots of notes and sketches attached. There were storyboards for all the major effects sequences. One of the things I think I finally figured out was how they did the scene where Carol Anne is pulled up the mirror. It was described as a "flying mirror" in the storyboard, and it seems the mirror was rigged to actually move up, so it appeared only Carol Anne was moving, as the rest of the reflection stayed the same. There were floorplans for most of the major sets, as well as official building floorplans for the John Hancock Center, polaroids of makeup effects, a shooting schedule, location information, AND....a script segment for the re-shot ENDING! AND...a DATE. It appears that the segment for the reshot ending was listed as REVISED March 14, 1988.....AFTER Heather died. Unfortunately, the scripts at the Library cannot be photocopied because they are "unpublished," although you are allowed to take notes.

Another thing about the script....the old ending was still included in the pages preceding the re-shoot pages (except for the page in which Kane's face "explodes with light," page 111), but some parts (pages 110 and 112) had big red X's through them.  The new re-shoot pages (5 in all) had been inserted between pages 110 and 112. Finally, one grammatical correction was noted on the page of the old ending. The part where Carol Anne looks toward the "broken" window after seeing Tangina was written over with pen to indicate that it was an "unbroken" window.

The Original Ending

above, a publicity still from the film's original ending
Below you'll find my reconstuction of the original ending, using the script, publicity stills, and story boards (which were drawn by Brick Mason). The sequence was filmed over about three days during the last week of June, 1987, right before principal photograhy was completed. Does the footage still exist? Only MGM knows for sure. You can ask them about it on their Facebook page and request a special edition release here: https://www.facebook.com/mgm?fref=ts
Finally, to read more about why the ending below was shelved after Heather O'Rourke passed away and why a new version was filmed, read the articles I wrote for "Gorezone" magazine here: http://www.poltergeistIII.com/mystery.html

Poltergeist III's original ending
REVISED: 3/18/87

CONTINUED:
ANGLE-PAT AND CAROL ANNE-Pat recoils in horror, wildly swinging the necklace at the evil presence in front of her. Carol Anne steps back, disappearing into the fog. Pat unlatches her safety belt and plunges from the washing rig through the broken window and into the screaming maelstrom.

INT. CAROL ANNE'S BEDROOM-GARDNER APARTMENT-NIGHT
Pat tumbles to the floor in a room which has become a world of pure, freezing rage. Shielding her eyes from the icy light and howling wind she staggers forward, searching and screaming.

(above, a storyboard showing the placement of the frozen bodies in Carol Anne's room)

PATRICIA
Bruce! Bruce!

She is startled as a violent gust suddenly forces her to lose balance and she collides with a solid object. She falls and turns to it.

HER POV-She is eye-level with the top of Carol Anne's bed. A few inches away, Carol Anne's Speak 'n Spell, frosted with ice suddenly comes to life. Its sound eerily cuts through the din.

SPEAK 'N SPELL
B-R-U-C-E. Bruce. Can you spell Trish?

CLOSE ON PAT-As she scrambles back away from the bed. She falls again over another object on the floor. It is Carol Anne's body, frozen in the throws of death and pinned to the floor by a solid sheet of ice. Terrified, Pat screams and rolls away. She is immediately confronted by another ice statue. This one contains the bodies of Donna and Scott, twisted in death beneath the ice. Pat recoils and stumbles onto a third ice statue. It holds the grotesquely frozen body of Bruce. She screams in agony and horror.

PATRICIA
Bruce! Oh my god...Bruce!

above, a close up of the dummy used for the "frozen" Bruce
below, a wider angle of the dummy. These shots were likely taken inside a prop room, before filming.

Pat throws herself at the frozen form, desperately beating and clawing at it with her hands. Her eyes wild with emotion, she suddenly focuses on something.

HER POV-She sees Kane looking down at her through the ice and fog.

ANGLE-PAT-As she rises and hurls herself at Kane. She SLAMS into the mirror. With a passionate fury, her hands madly tear away at the ice and frost on the surface.

PATRICIA
You can't take them! Tangina said you can't. I love them! I love them!

She suddenly stops. She spins around, realizing that Kane is not behind the mirror, but behind her in the room!

HER POV-KANE is moving toward her. His face is the pure essence of evil. The foul decomposing champion in this war between life and death. He grins behind his cold breath.

ANGLE-PAT-As she slides along the mirror, just out of his grasp. She is crying.

PATRICIA
NO!

Suddenly, Pat's mirror image spins around, it's face a death mask, it grabs her viciously. It reaches for the necklace. Kane laughs as Pat screams. She hits out at her evil image. It releases its grip.

ANGLE-PAT and her mirror image fall back.
ANGLE-PAT-She has fallen over the frozen body of Tangina, pinned like the others by a sheet of ice to the floor. Tangina's eyes move beneath the ice, panning from Pat upwards to Kane.

ANGLE-PAT-She pulls back the necklace

CU-PAT'S HAND-Tightly clutched about the necklace. CRACK! Suddenly Tangina's hand breaks through the ice and takes the necklace from Pat.

ANGLE-TANGINA-Rising from the frozen prison, she holds the amulet upwards toward Kane.

ANGLE-PAT-She watches in horror.

ANGLE-TANGINA AND KANE

TANGINA
You need me, Kane! Not them! I'll guide you. I can lead you into the light.
(holding up the necklace)
I have the power.

KANE ROARS. He reaches out and touches the amulet. SUDDENLY...

CLOSE ON KANE-His face begins to crack. Fracture lines radiate across it. His face shatters and EXPLODES! with a blinding light.

CLOSE ON TANGINA-There is a slight smile on her face as the icy white light from Kane's exploding face wipes away Tangina's image.

CLOSE ON PAT-As the light obliterates her, resounding through the storm.

EXT. JOHN HANCOCK BUILDING-NIGHT
A catastrophic violent surge BLASTS! through the window sending energy swirling up through the clouds. Its dissemination creating prismatic beams which shoot up into the sky, dissipating, absorbed into the vast dark expanse.

INT. CAROL ANNE'S ROOM-GARDNER APARTMENT-NIGHT
The storm is quickly dissipating-Visibility returns. THE CAMERA MOVES IN ON BRUCE, PATRICIA, DONNA, CAROL ANNE, AND SCOTT. Their arms intertwined around each other. The five of them together in a family embrace sharing tears of joy and relief. Bruce has lifted Carol Anne. Pat stretches up and kisses her lovingly on the cheek. They are all facing away from the mirror except for Carol Anne who is facing it over Bruce's shoulder. Her eyes focus on the mirror.

HER POV-In the mirror is the reflection of the whole group. Amid them stands Tangina. She smiles into CAMERA and waves a gentle "goodbye" to Carol Anne with her fingers.

ANGLE-CAROL ANNE-As she returns the gesture, a solitary tear wells up in one eye and gently rolls down her cheek.

ANGLE-OVER CAROL ANNE-and into the mirror. Tangina appears to walk around the group and in front of them. Carol Anne turns her head into the camera.

HER POV-There is no one in front of them, just the silence of the room and the remains of the broken window looking out to the skyline.

ANGLE-THE FAMILY AND SCOTT-Tangina is no longer in the mirror behind them. All that remains is a family together and safe.

THE CAMERA BACKS out of the room and passes through the unbroken window. It PANS across the face of the building, finally settling on the morning sun rising over the shimmering waters of Lake Michigan.

THE END

SHOOTING SCHEDULE EXCERPTS: According to the revised shooting schedule, dated 6/19/87, the ending sequences above were filmed on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, June 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of 1987. A few other shots were completed that week as well (including interiors of the plane Tangina flew on, Scott's bedroom, the interior of the walk in freezer, etc.). Principal photography was finished by Friday, June 26th, 1987. The film had gone one week over schedule.
